News about that Raging Bull not-really-sequel hasn’t exactly been making headlines for the past four years or so. After MGM “amicably separated” themselves from the project and the makers agreed not to call it Raging Bull II, everyone kinda forgot about it. But now it’s here, with a new name and a trailer and everything.
Raging Bull II
Remember that ‘Raging Bull’ sequel MGM was making with director Martin Guigui (‘My X-Girlfriend’s Wedding Reception’), with William Forsythe playing an older version of boxer Jake LaMotta? Well, it’s no longer called ‘Raging Bull II.’ It’s new title will be ‘The Bronx Bull.’ And oh yeah, it’s no longer a ‘Raging Bull’ sequel at all.

'Raging Bull' is arguably Martin Scorsese's finest piece of film making. A movie that stands on its own with it's own story to tell that never required a sequel. But this is Hollywood we're talking about, and Scorsese clears the air on the possibility of a 'Raging Bull II.'
I just checked my calendar. It’s no longer April Fool’s Day. But how else do you explain a story that simply has to be a practical joke? Please tell me that this isn’t true, that Hollywood wants to make a ‘Raging Bull’ sequel without either Martin Scorsese or Robert De Niro.
