Dwayne Johnson’s Rampage, based on the video game about monster-sized animals that terrorize a city, is currently filming, and The Rock really, really wants us all to be excited about that. He’s been posting photos from the set for the past few weeks, and his latest comes with one caveat: Don’t you dare tell The Rock that he runs like Tom Cruise.

We must now expand our description of prolific actor, producer, businessman, and pumper of muscles Dwayne Johnson’s many skills to include ace social media marketer. No wonder Johnson has become one of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood; not only is he a hugely likable (not to mention literally huge) screen presence, he’s better at hyping his movies on social media than just about anybody. See, for instance, Johnson’s latest tweet about his upcoming disaster thriller Rampage:

Dwayne Johnson really wants us all to know that he’s currently filming his newest project, a video game adaptation of Rampage, about a trio of oversized beasts who go on a, well, rampage across a city, and only a few brave souls can stop them. Those brave souls, this time, are The Rock himself, Naomie Harris, and The Walking Dead’s Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who appears in Johnson’s latest Instagram from the set.

Dwayne Johnson is the gift that keeps on giving. Not only does the actor continue to produce some of the best action movies around, but he also keeps fans entertained between releases by sharing incredible behind-the-scenes footage and images from his movies. This was the case with The Fate of the Furious and the upcoming Jumanji sequel, and now Johnson is at it again with Rampage, his 2018 movie based on the popular video game franchise of the same name.

Dwayne Johnson’s new movie sounds pretty bananas, mostly because it involves a giant mutated gorilla going on a, well, rampage with two other oversized beasts. The Rock recently revealed the synopsis of his new movie, and has officially begun production. Good news: there’s going to be a lot of motion capture.

With the passing of the great James Brown, the title of the hardest working man in show business is up for grabs. We nominate Dwayne Johnson, a superman whose personal Kryptonite is more than 15 straight minutes of relaxation. In addition to headlining the Fast & Furious franchise, rebooting the Jumanji series, spearheading a variety of television projects, and running his own line of athletic wear, Johnson is also working on a big-screen version of Rampage, the classic 1980s arcade game about a bunch of giant monsters leaving a path of destruction across the United States.

With their insane ability to commit to so many projects and the fact that they never look worse for the wear, we must begin to wonder: are they immortal? The actor has revealed new details on his upcoming Rampage project, along with a GIANT list of his current filming schedule / work commitments — which would make any mere mortal man weep. But yeah, he’s immortal, so.

As we reported last month, Dwayne Johnson is set to star in the long-gestating Rampage, reuniting with his San Andreas producer for the adaptation of the classic arcade game. It looks as though that’s not the only San Andreas reunion happening for the project, as New Line has hired director Brad Peyton to helm the film.

Not content with the millions of movie franchises he’s currently starring in, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has lined up another one. This time, he’ll reunite with San Andreas producer Beau Flynn on an adaptation of the classic arcade game, Rampage.
