An article published yesterday shed some light on the potentially tense contract negotiations that are looming between Marvel Studios and Robert Downey Jr. and the 'Avengers' cast. Hard to believe as it is, there seems to be a possibility that the studio would opt to recast Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and the rest of the crew instead of upping their paychecks. So how would that affect your decision to see Marvel's upcoming films?
It's almost that time, kids. As the first weekend of May approaches, we prepare ourselves to be firmly in the grasp of the summer movie season, when we can rest assured that every Friday for the next four months will bring us a big, buzz-worthy flick. The kid in us loves this time of year. (Hell, the adult in us does, too!)
It's always tricky considering what will be the summer's "biggest" film, but we wanna know which one has you all pumped up.
The race for 'The Crow' is heating up. We previously reported that 'The Avengers' and 'Thor' fan favorite Tom Hiddleston was in the running for the lead in Relativity Media's adaptation of the James O'Barr comics, but now the latest word is that Alexander Skarsgard is up for the part as well.
The 2013 Golden Globes nominations were announced this morning when Jessica Alba, Megan Fox and Ed Helms took the press stage. Predictably, Steven Spielberg's 'Lincoln,' Kathryn Bigelow's 'Zero Dark Thirty' and Tom Hooper's 'Les Miserables' all went home happy with their respective noms, but an unexpected surprise was the inclusion of 'Django Unchained' in a total of five categories, including one for Best Picture! But who are the film's main competitors?
Movies and candy: two things that go together amazingly well. We love going to the movies and treating ourselves to one of our favorite snacks. It's not just for kids anymore! But what is our favorite candy? We couldn't decide so we're putting it to a vote. What do YOU think is the best movie theater candy?
James Bond movies have been thrilling audiences for years, and fans are just as excited for the 23rd installment 'Skyfall' to hit theaters as they were back in the days of 'Dr. No.' Needless to say, 007 is one of those characters that will live on long after we're all gone, but the franchise still faces the never-ending task of making this secret agent character and story line just as interesting to watch as the previous films.
This has partly been accomplished with the numerous actors portraying Bond -- Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan, Barry Nelson, Daniel Craig, etc. -- but are we now ready to see someone completely different take on the role? Are we ready to see a black James Bond?
So far most of our information, at least in regards to the latter, comes from the comics -- Thanos is a member of The Eternals, a group of god-like beings with immense power, far beyond that of humans. Thanos is referred to as the "Mad Titan" in the comics for attempting to demolish the entire human race with his Infinity Gauntlet, capable of manipulating, time, space, reality and even the human soul.
There's also talk that this entity will appear in the upcoming 'Guardians of the Galaxy,' due to an analysis of the comic book plot on which the film is based. All that's left, really, is a high-profile actor to take on this role.
