Although the first ‘White House Down’ trailer hit tonight, we already got a look at the footage … well, us and two small movie theater-filled audiences. Director Roland Emmerich brought along Jamie Foxx to the Union Square AMC theater in NYC for the big reveal of the trailer, while Channing Tatum was doing the same with a London-based audience (shown via telecast)...

'White House Down' may look a little familiar -- it is the second "'Die Hard' in the White House" movie of 2013 -- but it's also the bigger budget summer blockbuster version. Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx star in this Roland Emmerich summer extravaganza, and they waited until just after 'Olympus has Fallen' was released to debut their trailer.

For a while there, Hollywood movies would cast older, respectable Black actors as presidents. Think Morgan Freeman in 'Deep Impact' or Danny Glover in '2012.' But that was before Barrack Obama became the president, and so it looks like the upcoming 'White House Down' is going with the more modern variant. Jamie Foxx is up to play that film's commander-in-chief.

Roland Emmerich stepped outside of his blockbuster box with 2011’s ‘Anonymous,’ proving to the world he was capable of directing a film where gun-toting characters raced to prevent the end of the world. But this departure appears to have been short-lived, as the ‘Day After Tomorrow’ director plans to run right back to the action-thriller genre.
