'Rush' Review

Ron Howard's 'Rush' is over two straight hours of lionizing F1 drivers as though they were Gods who ride among us. That aspect is demeaning and insufferable. But the thing is, 'Rush' is a good enough movie on its merits that I pretty much enjoyed it. If you are one who enjoys racing, I can only imagine how you'll react. (Perhaps you should wear a bib for all the drooling.)

Though Dan Brown's reign as the king of airplane reading may be over, his Robert Langdon books produced two very successful movies. So it's no surprise that Brown's 'Inferno' is being adapted for the big screen, with Tom Hanks returning as Langdon, and with Ron Howard directing, and has been set for a December 2015 release.

If 'Fast and Furious 6' doesn't satisfy your need for speed, there's another high-octane racing film on its way this year - the Formula 1 set pic 'Rush' starring 'Thor' himself, Chris Hemsworth. While it may not have as much action as 'Fast and Furious,' it looks like it's trying to offer something up a little more dramatic. Is it successful? Let's watch the 'Rush' trailer and find out.

Jay-Z and Ron Howard. Not the most natural of collaborations, but then again, neither artist has ever limited himself to one particular field or focus. The two, along with Howard's longtime producing partner Brian Grazer, are set to meld minds and talents for a documentary revolving around Jay-Z's 'Budweiser Made in America' music festival, which takes place September 1-2 in Philadelphia.

If you don't know anything about this movie and want to know why it should be on your radar in one sentence or less, here's what you need to know: Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Bruhl play rival Formula One drivers. Yeah. That does sound awesome.
