One of our most anticipated films of the year is Gareth Edwards' take on 'Godzilla,' which stars 'Breaking Bad''s Bryan Cranston, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen, and will hopefully avoid the pitfalls of the previous American version. Now there's a behind-the-scenes look, and it offers Cranston a chance to get goofy.

It's that time of the year: time for top 10 lists, time to start gearing up for awards season, and picking the contenders and ensuring we shout their names in all caps from behind our laptops, and a time for critics to champion our favorite movies and performances -- which is why I think it's time to take a look back at my favorite female-centric (and gender politic-centric) films and female performances of 2013.

It looks like 'Godzilla' is turning out to be a lot bigger than we though -- casting wise we mean. While the Gareth Edwards-helmed remake recently began production in Vancouver, one last casting addition has been made to the lead group going up against the beast.
