When it comes to tentpole studio releases, there's a pressure to get the next one made two or three years after the first, simply so the brand is still in people's heads. The best way to get a jump on that is to start prepping the sequel before the first film is released, and because (at least with these films) the script is often the cheapest part, it's no surprise that Disney has already commissioned someone to pen a sequel to 'Oz: The Great and Powerful.'

"I don't want to be a good man; I want to be a great one." So says Oscar, a humble (read: crummy) magician in a traveling circus circa 1905, just before a magical tornado sweeps him and his hot air balloon away to a land that just so happens to share his nickname: Oz. In 'Oz the Great and Powerful,' Oscar (James Franco) finds exactly what his heart desires; the chance to be a great man, wealthy and powerful, the ruler of a beautiful kingdom. And the kingdom does look damn good, and most of Oz's adventures in it are pretty entertaining as well.

A fanboy frenzy was set off late last week, when news of a possible 'Evil Dead 4' film came about, thanks to Sam Raimi's remark that he was planning on working on the script this summer with his brother, Ivan. One of the essential questions posed by Sam Raimi's 'Wizard of Oz' prequel story, 'Oz, the Great and Powerful,' (other than how the Wonderful Wizard became so wonderful, of course) is which of the three witches he encounters in the Land of Oz eventually becomes the most famous witch in movie history, the Wicked Witch of the West? While we've already figured out that question for ourselves, through the early 'Oz' merchandise released through the Disney store, we've got another juicy spoiler for all you fans.

We're less than a month away from the release of 'Oz: The Great and Powerful' and for those excited, it's good to know February is a short month. Drawn from the works of L. Frank Baum (and the success of Tim Burton's 'Alice in Wonderland'), Sam Raimi's film looks big and weird and we're nothing if not curious. Here's two new TV spots to whet appetites.
