Seth MacFarlane Announces 'Ted 2' Release Date

We've been hearing about 'Ted 2' since...well, since the first 'Ted' became a box-office sensation and made $550 million worldwide. But, since then, we've had precious little in the way of actual updates. Sure, everyone - including star Mark Wahlberg and writer/director Seth MacFarlane - want it to happen, but would it actually happen? MacFarlane took to Twitter and let everyone know that it is happening and exactly when you'll be able to see it.

Fans of Seth MacFarlane's FOX Animation Domination block have likely come to understand by now that 'Family Guy' spinoff 'The Cleveland Show' has most likely run its course, but it seems'American Dad' is in for a shakeup as well. The FOX series will officially move to TBS in 2014 beginning with the 11th season, keeping to its current network for the upcoming fall run.

Bittersweet though it may be, 'Futurama' will finally return tonight for the first of the final 13 episodes, beginning with "Fry and Leela's Big Fling." While we've learned of some impressive genre guest stars to debut in the coming weeks, most surprising of all is that 'Family Guy' creator Seth MacFarlane will lend his voice to the futuristic animated comedy, and you'll never guess as whom!

It was revealed today that Universal has agreed to co-finance Seth MacFarlane's upcoming Western comedy, 'A Million Ways to Die in the West,' finally putting the film on the fast track to production. After all, MacFarlane's 'Ted' shattered all expectations at the box office last year, so they'd be foolish not to. Also hidden away in the announcement: Neil Patrick Harris has joined the cast, adding another great name to a shockingly solid ensemble.

A few months ago we heard the surprising news that 'The Simpsons' had cast its largest animation rival in 'Family Guy' creator Seth MacFarlane for an upcoming guest stint, to be utilized as this fall's season 25 premiere. Now however, 'Simpsons' producers have instead moved the animation mogul's appearance up to the May 19 season 24 finale, and released the first pictures of MacFarlane's alternate reality turn in Springfield! At this year Oscars, Seth MacFarlane caused quite a controversy as he hosted the ceremony with a number of risque bits and jokes (most notably the "We Saw Your Boobs" song from the opening monologues) but that was exactly what Oscar producers hoped MacFarlane would bring to the normally staid production. The 'Family Guy' creator previously said he has no interest in returning, the producers seemed to have liked the controversy (and the ratings that went with it) and MacFarlane has officially been invited to return to host the 2014 Oscars.
