It's that time of the year where scary movies begin to descend on theaters in anticipation of Halloween. One of the most promising this year is 'Sinister,' which stars Ethan Hawke, and it doesn't rely on found footage for the entire movie. Now there's a red band trailer for the film, and it sells the film's scares fairly well.

When it comes to big summer movies, getting moved around the calendar is often a big deal. When it comes to smaller movies, a little less so. But for positioning purposes both 'Sinister' and 'Killing Them Softly' have had their release dates pushed back.
It appears that 'Sinister' finds its way around the found footage genre by having found home movies (some of them on actual film). The trailer for the fall thriller has stars Ethan Hawke as a writer who stumbles across something terrible.
Is there anything scarier than home movies? Or - at least - the thought of watching them? 'Sinister' takes this fear to a new level by making those home movies haunted. The film hits theaters October 5, but until then, here's a motion poster.
