Amid the myriad of FOX’s pickups and surprising cancellations, the network has also taken its 2015 Upfront presentation to file out Mulder and Scully’s TV return. Not only will The X-Files formally return in January 2016, but so too has the network put the truth out there with its full future lineup.
Sleepy Hollow - Page 2
FOX breakout Sleepy Hollow went through something of a rough patch in Season 2, just barely eking out a third season renewal under a new showrunner. Now, so called “Sleepyhead” fans have yet another reason to lose their heads, as Orlando Jones will reportedly leave the series before Season 3.
FOX’s Sleepy Hollow has had a rough going in Season 2, losing a great deal of its breakout audience, suffering creatively by most accounts, even losing showrunner Mark Goffman in recent weeks. So-called “Sleepyheads” can rest easy however, as FOX has renewed the time-travel horror-thriller for a third season, bringing in a new series head as well.
The release of ‘Big Eyes’ marks the 17th film of director Tim Burton and one of the biggest departures in his 30 year career as a feature filmmaker. A seemingly straightforward drama about painter Margaret Keane, the movie sees one of the most fantastical filmmakers in the world making a rare trip back down to Earth. To mark the occasion, we delved into Burton’s filmography with one mission: to rank his films from worst to best. Some choices were easy (he’s made some really lousy films) and others were difficult (he’s made a handful of genuinely great movies), and through it all, he proved to be fascinating, often maddening subject. Few directors stoke the ire of movie fans quite like Burton, but when he’s on point, no one can do what he does.
Welcome back to another installment of the Monday Morning Critic. In this space each week, I’ll be looking at the week that was in addition to the week ahead in television. The format will shift each week, as the world of TV will dictate the form and content of each piece.
Most of the major networks have already put forward their fall 2014 schedules, but fourth place is hardly bad press for FOX, given all their promising new series on deck. The full fall premiere list has arrived, plotting 'Gotham''s batty debut ahead of the much-hyped 'Family Guy'-'Simpsons' crossover, while 'Glee''s final farewell and more have been pushed to midseason.
A few weeks ago saw Warner Bros. unleashing its full docket of Comic-Con 2014 panels, but 20th Century Fox and the fine folk at FX are certainly no slouches. Find out what brings 'American Horror Story' to San Diego for the very first time, along with 'The Strain,' a crossover event between 'The Simpsons' and 'Family Guy,' the final ride for 'Sons of Anarchy' and many, many more at Comic-Con 2014!
Earlier today we found out that FOX's 'Gotham' would occupy the Monday slot alongside 'Sleepy Hollow' season 2, but that proved among the least surprising choices for the upcoming season. Find out what's got Emmy-winner 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' busting up FOX's Animation Domination, and where we can expect the final season of 'Glee' to land with FOX's full fall lineup!
Many were surprised by FOX's decision not to grant fall breakout hit 'Sleepy Hollow' an additional 8 episodes beyond the first 13, instead keeping quality higher with a smaller order. The same was to prove true of season 2, though new reports suggest that 'Sleepy Hollow''s second run could see as many as 15-18 episodes, while the new season also added 'West Wing' star Timothy Busfield as founding father Benjamin Franklin.
One of the undeniable breakouts series of 2013, FOX's supernaturally spooky 'Sleepy Hollow' will return for another 13 episodes this coming fall, continuing Icabod (Tom Mison) and Abbie (Nicole Beharie)'s fight against the coming apocalypse. And while fall seems forever away, stars and producer dropped a mythology's worth of new 'Sleepy Hollow' season 2 intel from the recent PaleyFest panel.
