"From a young child I was already destined to make one movie and that movie was 'Popeye,'" says director Genndy Tartakovsky, who has been tasked to make Sony Animation's feature film rendition of the iconic character. While the man behind 'Hotel Transylvania' and his team are hard at work on the animation, the studio has released some test footage to give us an idea of what we can expect.

The premise of 'Manimal' - the NBC show from 1983 that ran a scant eight episodes - was that main character Dr. Jonathan Chase (played by Simon MacCorkindale) could turn into any animal of his choosing, and did so to fight crime. He is a Man-Animal, or Manimal for short. For anyone who wasn't around when the show hit the air, the only reason why you might know of it is because the title became a punchline. That hasn't deterred Sony Pictures Animation, who are looking to turn it into a movie.
Not sure about the rest of you, but when it comes to Genndy Tartakovsky, the man can do no wrong. He's in the middle of post-production on his first animated feature 'Hotel Transylvania' and the filmmaker is finally showing American audiences a sneak peek at what is to come from his latest project.
