Millennials: Is there nothing we can't do? We got denim jackets back in fashion, forced a new season of Twin Peaks into existence, and peer-pressured LeBron James into signing on for a remake of Space Jam in the Michael Jordan role. Whether these are good or bad things is very much up for debate, but the matter stands that mid-’90s nostalgia has been a powerful motivating force in recent entertainment business. And now, the millennials of America have staged their greatest coup of all: the original Space Jam is coming back to theaters next month, notes The Hollywood Reporter.

Anyone familiar with CW breakout Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (and if not, get to Netflixin’!) likely knows Rachel Bloom has a storied history of viral hits. In fact, it almost placed her among the SNL cast, for which the Golden Globe-winner now releases her audition, featuring Katharine Hepburn as Bugs Bunny.

'30 For 30' Parody Tackles the "Real" Events of 'Space Jam'

For reasons that remain totally baffling to us, the 1995 'Space Jam' has been seeing a nostalgia-fueled resurrection in the past couple of years, with the children of the '90s now old enough to attempt elaborate defenses of the things they loved in their childhood. The movie, which saw Michael Jordan teaming up with the Looney Tunes to defeat a team of aliens in a game of basketball, is about as commercially crass and ugly as mainstream filmmaking can get ... which makes this video parodying it all the more awesome.
