'Spartacus' star Manu Bennett has had to fend off plenty of arrows in his time playing the honorable gladiator/warrior Crixus, but his latest role may well double that. While 'Spartacus: War of the Damned' will premiere its final season on January 25, the buff New Zealander will next make his way to The CW's 'Arrow,' guesting as a character we've surprisingly already seen! What secret lies behind Manu Bennett's Slade Wilson, and will he prove friend, foe or brother to Oliver Queen?
Many a 'Spartacus' fan were both saddened and invigorated by the announcement that the hit Starz series would end its run with the final 10-episode season 'Spartacus: War of the Damned,' but their may yet be hope for the world created by show-runner Steven S. DeKnight. New reports suggest that Starz may be developing a spin-off of the blood-soaked series, to center on Todd Lasance's upcoming portrayal of Julius Caesar! Will the 'Spartacus' universe live on after all?
Come a day within the next few weeks, and we'll no longer have 'The Walking Dead,' 'Boardwalk Empire,' nor even 'Dexter' to satiate our weekend bloodlust. However will we cope? With the final season of Starz' epic uprising saga, 'Spartacus: War of the Damned' of course! While we eagerly await the tragic final season of the bloody drama, Starz has issued an official poster for the farewell year, making 'Spartacus: War of the Damned' its biggest outing yet. Get a first look inside!
As excited as we are to check out the new season of 'Spartacus,' to be sub-titled 'Spartacus: War of the Damned,' it comes with a twinge of sadness. For we know that just as quickly as 'Spartacus: War of the Damned begins, the quicker the final season of Steven S. DeKnight's historical epic will come to an end. Earlier this year, we were bereaved to learn that following an epic second (technically third) season of Stephen S. DeKnight and Starz's 'Spartacus,' the series would come to a conclusion with its third official season, 'Spartacus: War of the Damned.' With a run of only 10 episodes, Starz has set its officical 2013 premiere date for the show's bloody end, but when can viewers expect the sword to drop? And what new series might take its place?
'Spartacus' was the first show to make blood, gore and way too many sex scenes cool long before 'Game of Thrones'' bevvy of naked chicks and beheadings came along, but it was by no means a smooth road for the Starz series. First there was season 1 called 'Spartacus: Blood and Sand,' which starred the late Andy Whitfield and was followed by the prequel mini-series 'Gods of the Arena' after the star's death. Then the role was recast to feature Liam McIntyre as Spartacus and the storyline was retitled as 'Vengeance.'
Now with the third and final season, titled 'War of the Damned,' airing this coming January, we can't wait to pick up where we left off in the main storyline. And to help you all get as pumped as us, we're offering up free copies of 'Spartacus: Vengeance' on Blu-ray to help catch you up on everything that's been happening.
Sad as it might be that Starz' epic 'Spartacus' saga will come to an end after only three seasons with 'Spartacus: War of the Damned' next year, everything we've seen of the forthcoming bloodbath has us ready to swear our loyalty to the armies of Spartacus. As his legend and history would dictate, 'Spartacus: War of The Damned' is set to be the biggest year yet in size and scope, so how would you like a peek at the action?
Starz is continuing their mission to join the ranks of HBO and Showtime with original premium content, their two latest projects in development being two dramas from the writers behind 'Spartacus' and 'Thor.'

We're still reeling a bit from this morning's announcement that not only would 'Spartacus' season 3 title itself 'Spartacus: War of the Damned' but that ultimately creator Steven S. DeKnight and Starz decided to make next season the show's last. But as long as we have to say goodbye to such an excellent series and a stellar cast, why not hear it from the man himself?
