We haven't received an update on 'Magic Mike 2' in quite some time. The last significant piece of 'Magic Mike 2' news came in September, when the rumor broke that Channing Tatum might actually make his directorial debut on the project, said to be a road trip movie. 'Side Effects' Review

Press screenings of Steven Soderbergh's 'Side Effects' -- supposedly the director's final theatrical film before his self-imposed retirement -- were carefully monitored for latecomers. Stragglers who arrived after the screening began were greeted by signs like this one, reading that "due to the non-linear nature of this film, it would be unrewarding for you to enter at this point." This sort of thing is fairly unprecedented at press screenings (at least in my 10 or so years of experience), but they do resemble warnings that were placed outside theaters back in 1960, when what would become one of the most famous movies in Hollywood history was released to theaters -- a knowing wink from "The Filmmakers," as they signed their note, indicating their inspiration in this endeavor. That inspiration can be found here -- but be warned that clicking that link could probably be considered a spoiler.

The footage itself has been sort of a precursor mini-thriller in that we're left wondering whether our 'Girl With the Dragon Tattoo' is crazy or her seemingly iffy therapist (Jude Law) has something to do with it. Well, now the plot thickens with more confusion as the new UK international trailer has debuted, revealing more bits of the story.

The film itself, which recreates the 40 minutes of footage excised from William Friedkin's gay S&M-focused thriller 'Cruising,' is in itself too provocative for the mainstreamers considering it's homosexual content. Even Franco stated sarcastically in the trailer, "Don't show gay sex... that's the f---ing devil!"
