In the tradition of ScreenCrush series like You Think You Know Movies and You Think You Know TV comes a new YouTube series: Top Five! Each week (or so; we’ve got a lot of other stuff going on), ScreenCrush editor and critic Matt Singer will count down a particular topic from the world of movies (and probably write these introductory posts in the third person).

Supergirl has almost built its own universe faster than the world around it, and now the CBS drama will flesh out one of its mythology’s most recognizable assets. Check out Supergirl’s Superman-free take on the Fortress of Solitude, coinciding with the arrival of another past Supergirl, Laura Vandervoort.
The latest trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is more like “BATMAN!!!! (And Oh Yeah Superman Too).”
Zack Snyder caught a lot of grief from some Superman fans who complained that his version of Man of Steel wasn’t true to the character. Specifically the wanton destruction of Metropolis and, oh yeah, snapping General Zod’s neck. Classically Superman...
After a season’s worth of Supergirl awkwardly cutting around any actual Superman appearances on the small screen, Kal-El will finally come forth in this coming Monday’s Alan Moore-inspired “For the Girl Who Has Everything.” Well, we’ll meet him as a child. On Krypton. In a dream. Anyway, here’s some photos!
The moment Supergirl was announced to cast a young Kal-El, we knew some explanation was required. All was soon revealed that Alan Moore’s iconic “For the Man Who Has Everything” story would spawn an upcoming Supergirl of the same premise, sending Kara back to a normal life on Krypton, as seen in the first official photos.

Smallville star Tom Welling never technically got a chance to don the famous cape, and answers if he’d be open to stepping in as Supergirl’s Man of Steel.
I honestly cannot believe they’re pronouncing that title “Batman Vee Superman.” When they announced that DC’s mega-hero tussle would be called Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, I assumed it was just quirky branding, and I haven’t met a single person who didn’t call it “Batman Versus Superman” in casual conversation.
Supergirl has made some … Kryptic casting choices of late, between putting the word out on a young Kal-El that wouldn’t jive with Kara’s age, or a Bizarro (without specifying which), but at last, we have answers from on high. Find out what Alan Moore twist brings Kara and a young Superman together, as well as our first details (and photos) of Kara’s Bizarro!
CBS’ Supergirl left us off in 2015 with a literal cliffhanger (well, discounting gravity and all), as Kara prepared to take on Kryptonian supervillain Non. A new trailer for the DC hero’s 2016 return teases not only the skyward square-off, but the arrival of a true Toyman, and Kara uncovering a certain Martian Manhunting secret.
