'Supernatural' to Develop Another CW Spinoff After 'Bloodlines' Failure

'Supernatural' fans were less than impressed when the current season finally debuted the potential 'Bloodlines' spinoff, chronicling the monster families running Chicago, but despite The CW's decision to pass on the pilot, the network isn't giving up just yet. CW heads confirmed that the long-running monster drama will try again next year, crafting another spinoff to extend the 'Supernatural' franchise.

'Supernatural' suffered something of a setback recently in that The CW officially opted not to follow through on the proposed 'Bloodlines' spinoff, though as far as the franchise's future is concerned, there's plenty of grace ahead. Don't worry too much about Misha Collins' Castiel through the coming 'Supernatural' season 9 finale "Do You Believe in Miracles," as Collins has been confirmed to remains a series regular through season 10.

CW Passes on 'Supernatural: Bloodlines,' Cancels 'Tomorrow People' and Orders 'iZombie'

Moments ago we saw news that The CW officially ordered 'Arrow' spinoff 'The Flash' to series, along with the similarly comic-friendly 'iZombie,' but the news isn't all good. The 'Supernatural' spinoff 'Bloodlines' is officially a pass, while the network also opted not to renew 'The Tomorrow People,' 'Star-Crossed' or enduring 'Sex and the City' prequel series 'The Carrie Diaries.'

We've yet to hear any word from The CW as to whether the proposed 'Supernatural' spinoff "Bloodlines" will see the light of day beyond its backdoor pilot last week, but Sam and Dean will press right on through to face the "King of the Damned" in next Tuesday's all-new installment.
