We were more excited than annoyed when Syfy announced its intent to reboot classic Terry Gilliam-Bruce Willis timebender '12 Monkeys' as a TV series, even moreso now that casting has begun. 'Nikita' and 'X-Men' franchise star Aaron Stanford will take the role once played by Bruce Willis in the big-screen adaptation, while another will fill Madeline Stowe's role, and producers have been chosen as well.

Thanks to the millions of people who tuned into, tweeted, and confused their moms on Facebook about 'Sharknado,' SyFy is continuing to ride the shark schlock horror wave with 'Avalanche Sharks,' which is exactly what it sounds like. All week long we've been talking about the hot movie franchises turning to TV to extend their longevity, though in the case of Syfy and 'X-Men' director Bryan Singer's latest co-venture, we only need a dash of something monstrous.
