The Hateful Eight

It’s the movie they said would never be made. Specifically, writer/director Quentin Tarantino said that, after an early draft of the script for ‘The Hateful Eight’ leaked online. Eventually, though, Tarantino reversed himself and decided to mount the film anyway, with an amazing cast that includes Jennifer Jason Leigh, Kurt Russell (!), Tim Roth, Demian Bichir, Walton Goggins, Michael Madsen, Bruce Dern (!!!), Channing Tatum (!!!!!), and Samuel L. Jackson (!!!!!!!).

There comes a time when every talented individual must hang up their proverbial hat and retire -- some, like Martin Scorsese and Woody Allen, seem like they'll be working until someone forces them into retirement. But Quentin Tarantino has a different plan in mind: he wants to retire after he makes 10 films. 'The Hateful Eight' will, appropriately enough, be his eighth feature, and whether he sticks to his guns or not (no pun intended -- okay, pun totally intended) remains to be seen. After all, visionaries like him don't just walk away from doing what they love that easily, do they?

The saga of Quentin Tarantino's 'The Hateful Eight' began with the screenplay leaking online, continued with Tarantino canceling the project and then resurrecting it following a wonderfully received live reading of the script. Now, it climaxes with the official cast and synopsis being revealed. It's been a bumpy road, but there's a new QT film at the end. The journey should be worth the drama and trouble.

The cast of Quentin Tarantino's 'The Hateful Eight' is shaping up to be one of the most exciting ensemble casts in quite some time, and now it's looking to add one of the biggest leading men to the roster: Channing Tatum is being eyed for a leading role in Tarantino's upcoming western, and word is that the role is pretty major.

Well this is certainly some damn fine news: Jennifer Jason Leigh has been cast as the female lead in Quentin Tarantino's 'The Hateful Eight,' the director's highly-anticipated western project. Leigh was the original choice for the part, and even attended the director's live-reading of the script earlier this year.

In what is probably the best news since you woke up this morning and realized you were still alive, Quentin Tarantino has his eyes on Jennifer Lawrence to join 'The Hateful Eight' -- his previously aborted but once again in the works new Western, which recently debuted its first teaser trailer in front of 'Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.'

While 'The Hateful Eight' doesn't even begin filming until early next year (headed for a December 2015 release date), we got word last week that the first trailer would be attached to prints of 'Sin City: A Dame to Kill For' in theaters this week. Which is cool! But, we also got word that the trailer wouldn't be appearing online. That's not so cool. We got to see the first 'Hateful Eight' poster well before production even began on this latest effort from Quentin Tarantino, and now it looks like the first trailer will follow suit in just a few days time. So, how can you be the first to see it?

Quentin Tarantino just officially confirmed this past weekend at Comic-Con that he would, in fact, be filming 'The Hateful Eight' in early 2015. Here we are, just a few days later, and we already have the first 'Hateful Eight' poster, confirming that the project will be shot in "Super CinemaScope."

But, time truly heals all wounds and after a successful stage reading of his script, Tarantino has decided to move with 'The Hateful Eight' as his next project with shooting set to begin this November in Wyoming.
