We come to the end of another week, which means it's time for another Dose of Ridiculous. In this week's edition: What Kathie Lee did to a puppy, New Zealand's new Middle Earth currency, what 'Jurassic Park 4' thankfully never was, and a really bad teaser for a movie starring Lindsay Lohan and a porn star.
New Zealand is pretty proud that Peter Jackson and his Warner Bros. team chose the country's landscapes to house production of 'The Lord of the Rings' and 'The Hobbit' films. We would be too, but probably not to the extent of the New Zealanders.
In a similar fashion to the US releasing those commemorative but completely usable state-themed quarters years back, New Zealand is about to make 'Hobbit' coins a legitimate form of currency in honor of 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey's' premiere.
'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey' is due out December 14, but we now already know that there will be an extended edition of the film after it hits Blu-ray and DVD, set to be released sometime in third quarter of 2013.
Just as we suspected, the folks at Warner Bros. have another poster for 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.' However, rather than just giving you the new mind-blowing image to drool over, we decided to make things... a little more interesting. We've transformed the poster into a mix-matched puzzle and you have to rearrange it if you want to see the new poster.
The folks behind 'The Hobbit' haven't been holding back on the poster front. Back in the days of San Diego Comic-Con, director Peter Jackson released the first official poster and image of Gandalf in this 'Lord of the Rings' prequel trilogy, and since there have been a couple more -- one featuring the young Bilbo and the other highlighting his dwarven companions.
Too bad none of them really gave any clue as to what to expect from the upcoming 'Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,' aside from that first scrolling banner that showcased 10 scenes from the flick, of course. Now, Warner Bros. has once again come up short with the reveals with its new 'Hobbit' scrolling banner featuring the entire group.
Since the release of the second 'Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey' trailer hit the airwaves during Tolkien Week, Peter Jackson and his crew at Warner Bros. have been light on the promotional material for the upcoming book-adapted flick. The director recently gave us a look at one of the new 'Hobbit' posters, which featured Bilbo holding his trusty "Sting" sword, but new images or sneaks at the film were scarce.
But now with the latest poster, some other characters from the highly anticipated December movie get their time in the spotlight.
We could write some kind of tantalizing introduction, but come on: it's the new poster for 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.' It requires no introduction.
Today saw the release of the second trailer for Peter Jackson's first film in his second trilogy of J.R.R. Tolkien films, 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.' But that wasn't all the footage that came out. Warner Brothers created an app that let you choose which ending the trailer had. Now that footage has been assembled.
It’s “Tolkien Week,” which means people all around the world are celebrating that literary genius who gave us ‘The Hobbit’ and ‘The Lord of the Rings’ book series, and therefore the corresponding movie adaptations. Aside from that, though, it’s
'The Hobbit' fans know that this week marks Tolkien Week, which is extra special do to it also being the 75th anniversary of 'The Hobbit's' publication date and all. Plus, September 22 is "Hobbit Day," the day in the book series of both Bilbo and Frodo's birthdays. So, what better way to celebrate this extraordinary occasion than having Peter Jackson release a brand-new trailer for the much-anticipated 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey'?
