With the release of ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier,’ we now have our ninth film of the Marvel Studios continuity since the first ‘Iron Man’ debuted in 2008. It’s a weird thing, these movies have happened so relatively fast, re-watching them now, it’s hard not to have that, Oh, that’s right, Jeff Bridges was actually in ‘Iron Man’ moment. The Marvel movies come so quickly, it almost feels like an analogy to the current state of hyper-accelerated culture itself.
Anyway, here’s a ranking of all of the one-movie-only peripheral Marvel characters played by known actors that we haven’t quite forgotten, but at least deserve to be remembered as part of an Internet list. (Marvel One-Shot short films do not count.)
Previous ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ episode “T.A.H.I.T.I.” saw the race to save Skye bringing Coulson and fellow S.H.I.E.L.D. agent John Garrett (Bill Paxton) to the unknown facility responsible for Coulson's resurrection, deepening the mystery of its origins even further, so how does ABC’s ‘Avengers‘-adjacent series keep us marveling at its inaugural season?
Read on for your in-depth recap of everything you need to know about ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’’s fifteenth episode, “Yes Men!”
Marvel's 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' brought back a bit of credibility in recent weeks, as we learned from "T.R.A.C.K.S." that seasonal guest character Mike Peterson (J. August Richards) was in fact being groomed for an incarnation of comic character Deathlok. But March 11 installment "Yes Men" will prove the most Marvel-ous one yet. 'Thor' star Jaimie Alexander will suit up as Lady Sif for the coming episode, the first photo from which appeared online!
With 'Thor: The Dark World' outperforming the first 'Thor' both domestically ($204 million vs. $181 million) and worldwide ($632 million vs. $449 million) a 'Thor 3' was all but inevitable. Now Marvel has confirmed it by hiring one of their own to write it.
Marvel's critically debated 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' earned itself a bit of movie credit in only the second episode, sneaking in a cameo for Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury, but at long last our first true movie superhero has arrived. Lady Sif herself (and a personal favorite), Jaimie Alexander, will drop by the 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' in an upcoming episode!
When Marvel first unveiled the details to the upcoming 'Thor: The Dark World' Blu-ray release, fans were intrigued by one detail included among the extra features -- an all-new Marvel One-Shot. While the project was originally shrouded in mystery, the first photos and details from the short film have been release, and it centers around -- yup, you guessed it -- 'Iron Man 3' star Ben Kingsley!
In the Marvel comic books, Thor has a ridiculous number of friends, foes and potential love interests, ranging from the bewilderingly cosmic to the mortal and mundane. Although the two 'Thor' films have done an admirable job of bringing an assortment of these characters to live, they've barely even scratched the surface of what Asgard has to offer. In fact, it turns out that 'Thor: The Dark World' originally featured another comic book mainstay, but she got cut early on in development. Thankfully, newly released concept art lets us take a look at what could have been.
'Thor: The Dark World' rocked the summer box office with glorious purpose and will soon, no doubt, do the same for DVD and Blu-ray sales. The Blu-ray edition will strike store shelves this February 25, and some of the features revealed -- one in particular -- will be a nice surprise for Marvel fans.
It remains to be seen if 'Thor: The Dark World' will really prove required viewing before 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' picks up the pieces in this week's "The Well," but that concept proves much more literal than we expected in the first five minutes of the new 'Thor' tie-in episode!
