On May 7, Christopher McQuarrie’s proud return to the silver screen, 'Jack Reacher,' arrives on Blu-ray. The film, which stars Tom Cruise, is based on a series of books by author Lee Childs, and follows the title character, an ex-soldier who kicks a lot of ass while investigating a series of murders by a former U.S. army sniper. In advance of its upcoming release, Paramount Home Entertainment enlisted a small group of reporters to visit the Paramount Pictures back lot and experience first-hand what Cruise and his co-stars went through during shooting – including stunt driving, and most crucially, fight training. And we were there.

'Oblivion' is best described as opportunity, squandered. Its landscape – conceptual and physical – feels remarkably unique and bursting with possibilities, but the exploration of both lacks originality, and energy. Joe Kosinski’s follow-up to 'TRON: Legacy' is, like its predecessor, a gorgeously mounted, inventive world-building endeavor, but it’s also equally bloodless -- ponderous without being thoughtful, ambitious without being inspired, much less inspiring. The chronicle of a battle for the fate of humankind that possesses little humanity of its own, 'Oblivion' is an overstuffed compendium of familiar genre tropes rendered with ornamental beauty but not much emotional depth.

After the solid-but-not-spectacular box office performance of 'Jack Reacher,' Cruise's superstar status has been called into question, but there's no better way to combat that then headlining a major sci-fi action movie. The two new posters feel like they're hedging their bets: one relies almost entirely on Mr. Cruise's star power while the other relies on some nifty apocalyptic imagery to get butts in theater seats.

There's a bit of Toshiro Mifune's Sanjuro in this Reacher guy: the masterless warrior who strides into a corrupt town, answers to no one, rights a few wrongs, busts a few heads, and wanders away to find his next challenge. He has no possessions; he owns exactly two shirts and one jacket. All he carries with him is a roll of $100 bills, a passport, a toothbrush, and his inflexible moral code. He would have fit right in back in feudal Japan. Or the Old West, for that matter. He'd make a hell of a Man With No Name.

The usual tabloid suspects jumped on it so quickly you'd wonder if there's some sort of press room offering free brunch and mimosas aboard that train wreck. But there was something a little too opportunistic happening -- posts about Cruise's career and the possible effects of this divorce on box office sales of 'The Master,' and even a magazine spread re-worked to appear as though it foretold the divorce. To all of which we say, seriously?

The phrase "80's rock" calls certain things to mind: big voices playing big arenas singing big power ballads to big crowds with big hair. Bigness in all its forms, in other words, was the key to the era. And it's this part of the 80s rock scene that the new musical 'Rock of Ages' gets right -- maybe a little too right.

This film is one towering tribute to excess. Clocking in at over two hours and featuring 900 songs (approximate), it feels like an entire decade of music crammed into one supremely excessive movie. They didn't pour some sugar on this thing; they poured the whole friggin' box. And then they lit the box on fire and threw up some mock-sinister devil horns.

It's interesting to hear what the actors we love like – Paul Giamatti, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Mary J. Blige who are also apart of this phenomenal cast - sound like when they sing some of our favorite songs from the 80’s like - 'Don’t Stop Believin' and 'I Wanna Rock'. We want to know what you think of all the 'Rock of Ages' cover songs and which one is your favorite.
