Perfection is real, but just out of reach. Following word that SYFY passed on Kevin Bacon‘s Tremors sequel series, the full trailer has burrowed its way onto the web for a taste of what might have been.
The worm has officially turned, but not in the direction anyone expected. Despite setting Kevin Bacon to reprise his famous Tremors role in a new TV series based on the cult classic, SYFY has apparently passed on returning to Perfection, Nevada.
Don’t be alarmed by those vibrations in the ground, it’s just the Kevin Bacon-starring Tremors TV series gearing up. Syfy has booked Cube and Splice director Vincenzo Natali to helm the pilot episode, picking up from the cult classic 1990 film.
It only took two years, but the worm has finally turned. Syfy has given an official pilot order to a Kevin Bacon-fronted Tremors TV series, continuing the 1990 film legacy that spawned four direct-to-video sequels and a prior TV series.
Well, it worked for Ash vs. Evil Dead, and we’ve more than breached the Age of the Legacyquel, so why shake things up for Tremors? That’s right, the worm has turned on the 1990 cult classic once more, getting the TV reboot treatment with Kevin Bacon finally set to reprise his role.
It seems that Kevin Bacon may not be aware that the Tremors franchise continued on in his absence. The actor starred in the first film back in 1990, but there were four more sequels and a TV series that followed. But now that FOX has cancelled The Following, Bacon has some time on his hands, and he’s thinking that he would totally be down to make another Tremors movie.
