Vin Diesel

Not many actors can say they’ve played really convincing robots and trees, but Vin Diesel can. He was the voice of the title character in ‘The Iron Giant’ and the voice of Groot in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy.’ The actor, producer, and white T-shirt enthusiast, has been the anchor of the beloved ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise for over a decade; he plays Dominic Toretto, drag-racer extraordinaire and the leader of a gang of world-class thieves. ‘Furious 7’ comes out later this year. Diesel also starred in ‘xXx’ and the Riddick franchise, about a space criminal with artificial eyes.

While the online criticism of Avengers: Age of Ultron scared Joss Whedon off Twitter, Guardians of the Galaxy writer/director James Gunn still maintains a healthy social media presence, frequently interacting with fans and answering all matter of questions. As he preps Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in Atlanta, Gunn took to Twitter last night to answer all your pressing sequel questions, and revealed that there is a secret Guardians script that includes all the translations of what Groot is really saying that only he and Vin Diesel have, and that he’ll never tell you what or where that secret easter egg is.

Vin Diesel’s The Last Witch Hunter is probably best enjoyed as one of those 9th grade date movies. The ones where you pick the next non-sold out showing of a movie starring familiar actors to make out during, thus not suffering from missing plot points. I did this once with Van Helsing, the 2004 vampire equivalent of The Last Witch Hunter.

Back in August, Vin Diesel revealed that he’s returning to the xXx franchise (for some crazy reason), and that filming would potentially begin this December. The actor has backtracked on that just a little — while he’s not sure when the sequel will begin shooting, he does know who will be behind the camera.

With James Wan not returning to direct the next installment in the Fast and Furious franchise, Furious 8 is in desperate need of someone to sit behind the camera before Vin Diesel decides to just do the job himself. But it looks like Universal has narrowed their options down to just a few directors, each of them interesting choices in their own right.

Vin Diesel Announces New ‘Fast and Furious’ Trilogy Will End the Franchise
Last week reports surfaced that Universal Pictures was having an exceptionally difficult time finding a director to take on Fast and Furious 8, in part because Vin Diesel can be such a pain in the ass to work with. It was a damning report about the status of one of the most beloved and successful movie franchises, but Diesel himself has taken to his Facebook page to refute some of those claims and update on the status of the next Fast and Furious films.

Is Vin Diesel Going to Direct ‘Fast and Furious 8’?
The Fast and Furious franchise wouldn’t be where it is now without Vin Diesel. The films didn’t even kick into high gear until Diesel returned for 2009’s Fast and Furious, and the box-office numbers have been climbing astronomically since then. To say Universal owes Vin Diesel a gigantic debt of gratitude is an understatement, but exactly how much do they owe him? Would they actually let Diesel, who has little experience directing a movie let alone directing a movie on the scale of a Fast and Furious film, behind the camera of Fast and Furious 8? According to a new report, this may be what Vin Diesel wants and Universal is terrified.

Vin Diesel. A flaming sword. Gnarly witches and supernatural monsters. Vin Diesel’s insane beard. What more could you ask for in a new film from the star of the Fast and Furious and Riddick franchises? Not much — oh, but then there’s Michael Caine and Elijah Wood and Wildling badass Rose Leslie from Game of Thrones. Okay, so you could ask for more, but the latest trailer for The Last Witch Hunter promises more than enough to satisfy.

What’s a Vin Diesel movie without the possibility of a sequel to a Vin Diesel movie? The actor has grown quite comfortable starring in franchises, from Riddick to Fast and Furious and Guardians of the Galaxy, but there’s one older Diesel property that the actor thinks deserving of a sequel: Brad Bird’s The Iron Giant.
