At long last, The CW will finally treat Arrow, Flash, Legends and Supergirl to a proper four-way crossover with the two-night “Crisis on Earth-X.” The yearly event is always a highlight, but did you realize that The CW’s DC superheroes have met onscreen no less than twenty-five times? We don’t yet know if CW Seed’s animated Vixen will return for Season 3 (or another live-action Arrow appearance), but fans nonetheless have a new opportunity to catch up on her adventures. Vixen: The Movie will combine the two animated seasons into a feature-length Blu-ray, with plenty of bonus features.

It’s been several months since The CW first announced an additional animated Arrow-verse series beyond Vixen, aiming to adapt Freedom Fighters: The Ray. Said universe has been understandably busy in recent weeks, but producers tease that The Ray is assembling an “ambitious” writing staff that ties into some larger news about Vixen.

If Flash, Arrow, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow weren’t enough to get your DC on, in comes one more DC premiere. Fresh off CW Seed, the animated Vixen is back for Season 2, with the premiere installment available to stream right now.

CW Seed’s Vixen made a curious gaffe last month, blithely confirming a Season 2 premiere over Twitter, only to walk back the announcement hours later. We may now know why, as Warner Bros. now confirms a separate (albeit close) date for the Season 2 premiere in October, along with new details.

The CW already has in mind a fall 2016 schedule with four DC dramas during the week, so why not make it five? CW Seed’s animated Vixen re-enters the fray with a Season 2 premiere the very same week as Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow.

Just as The CW’s Arrow-verse births a new Vixen, so too is her comic progenitor about to have some company. The CW confirms that CW Seed will launch a new animated series set within the universe, Freedom Fighters: The Ray, featuring a gay lead with a voice to be cast for eventual live-action debut.
