Seeing as they're not exactly "teens" anymore, is it any real surprise that MTV has decided to end the original 'Teen Mom' series with the upcoming fourth season? Read what the network had to say about the final season and what, if anything, it had to do with the many legal issues facing the cast.

"Season 4 will be the final season of Teen Mom with Maci, Catelynn, Amber and Farrah. They will continue to be a part of our MTV family, and we're thankful to these brave young women for sharing their stories and helping to make a positive impact on teen pregnancy prevention," the network told US Weekly.

Of course the fact that Amber Portwood has gotten into all kinds of trouble with the law, ranging from domestic violence against baby daddy, Gary Shirley to possession of crack cocaine makes one wonder about the network's decision to axe the original hit.

Still, saying goodbye to the '16 and Pregnant' breakout stars doesn't mean the end for the 'Teen Mom' franchise. 'Teen Mom 2' is still going strong. And we've still got the '16 and Pregnant' farm league to feed into the upcoming 'Teen Mom 3.'

'16 and Pregnant' returns for season four on March 27th and the final season of 'Teen Mom' begins on June 19th as MTV continues to ask the age-old question, "Prom or Pampers?"
