"Sex addiction" and "romantic comedy" aren't two things you generally see lumped together, but the 'Thanks For Sharing' trailer looks to change that. Is it possible to take a subject as potentially sordid and deeply personal as this and craft a crowd-pleasing rom-com where movie stars get to fall in love? We certainly hope so.

Although the ensemble surrounding them is impressive, the trailer focuses mostly on Mark Ruffalo and Gwyneth Paltrow, who play one of those New York couples who are super-cute but only in the movies. (It's fun to imagine that they're seeing each other behind Tony Stark's back). Of course, his dark secret is that he's a recovering sex addict who regularly attends a support group, and they endure a pretty bumpy journey on the road to a happy ending. Along the way, Tim Robbins shows up to offer encouraging advice, and a bumbling Josh Gad has a meet-cute or two with Pink.

Although we certainly can't judge a movie from its trailer, 'Thanks For Sharing' looks like a cute and likable little movie that tries a little harder than your average romantic comedy. If anything, it looks like the perfect antidote to 'Shame,' which treated similar subject matter with such bleakness that it made you want to crawl into a hole and die. At least audiences will probably leave this one smiling.

'Thanks For Sharing' hits theaters on September 20, 2013.
