Although 'Amazing Spider-Man' received mixed reviews from fans and critics alike, 'Amazing Spider-Man 2' remains one of the biggest movies to keep an eye on at Comic-Con 2013. After all, modern superhero movies have made a habit of truly getting everything right in the second part (see 'The Dark Knight' and, ahem, 'Spider-Man 2'). The Comic-Con crowd genuinely wants to love everything they see, so if Marc Webb's upcoming sequel looks like a substantial improvement over part one, everyone will undoubtedly go nuts.

Oh, and they've officially revealed the logo for the film. That's probably why you're here, huh?

As you can see below, the logo is essentially the previous one with a big "2" slapped on the end. We're not going to put on our graphic designer hats and offer too much criticism. It's fine. It gets the job done. It lets everyone know that this is the sequel to 'The Amazing Spider-Man.'  However, it does make us wish that they went in a less generic direction with the titles for this series. Wouldn't 'The Spectacular Spider-Man' or another title plucked straight from the comics give this sequel an immediate boost of charm? Then again, we're not the marketing execs at Sony.

The Comic-Con panel for 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' will be held on Friday. If you're attending, make sure you get in line early. If you're not, we will be there and will keep you appraised of everything that goes down!

'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' swings into theaters on May 2nd, 2014.
