May 4

'The Avengers' -- Directed by Joss Whedon. Starring Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Chris Hemsworth, Samuel L. Jackson, and Chris Evans. This action packed blockbuster kicks off the summer movie season and unites all your Marvel superhero favorites -- Iron Man, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Captain America, Thor, and the Hulk -- under the guidance of Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D. to fight against the villainous Loki and his army.

'The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel' (Limited) -- Directed by John Madden. Starring Judi Dench and Bill Nighy. Retired British folk head off to India to live in a renovated hotel, only to discover the hotel isn't quite what they were promised.

'Dark Shadows' -- Directed by Tim Burton. Starring Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Chloe Grace-Moretz, and Eva Green. In this update of the classic 70s vampire soap, Johnny Depp plays Barnabas Collins, a man placed under a vampiric curse who awakens decades later to find his troubled descendants residing in his home.

'Girl in Progress' -- Directed by Patricia Riggen. Starring Eva Mendes and Cierra Ramirez. A single mother works to balance work, bills, and raising her daughter while having an affair with a married doctor. Her daughter begins to look for a way to grow up faster, inspired by the coming-of-age stories she reads for school.

'God Bless America' (Limited) -- Directed by Bobcat Goldthwait. Starring Joel Murray and Tara Lynne Barr. A man, fed up with the worst in society, embarks on a blood-soaked and hilarious vigilante killing spree with the help of a wayward teenage girl in Bobcat Goldthwait's darkly comedic follow-up to 'World's Greatest Dad.'

'Sleepless Night' (Limited) -- Directed by Frederic Jardin. Starring Tomer Sisley, Serge Riaboukine, and Julien Boisselier. In this action-packed French thriller a drug heist goes terribly awry and a man ends up with a bag of cocaine that he must return in order to save the life of his son.

'The Dictator' -- Directed by Larry Charles. Starring Sacha Baron Cohen, John C. Reilly, and Anna Faris. Sacha Baron Cohen plays a dictator who comes to America and must integrate with society after being stripped of all his former glory in this fish out of water comedy from the people who brought you 'Borat.'

May 18

'Battleship' -- Directed by Peter Berg. Starring Taylor Kitsch, Liam Neeson, Rihanna, and Alexander Skarsgard. Based on the classic board game, this sci-fi actioner pits US naval forces against a violent alien invasion in a battle for humanity that promises to be delightfully ridiculous, at the very least.

'What to Expect When You're Expecting' -- Directed by Kirk Jones. Starring Elizabeth Banks, Cameron Diaz, Anna Kendrick, and Jennifer Lopez. Based on the best-selling guide to pregnancy and motherhood, this comedy focuses on five different couples entering parenthood and experiencing all the fear and joy it has to offer.

'Lovely Molly' (Limited) -- Directed by Eduardo Sanchez. Starring Gretchen Lodge, Johnny Lewis, and Alexandra Holden. From director Eduardo Sanchez ('The Blair Witch Project') comes a new horror film about a newlywed woman who moves into her deceased father's house only to find that you can't escape your past. Her struggles with drug addiction and the pain of her youth begin to haunt her and threaten to destroy her life.

May 25

'Chernobyl Diaries' -- Directed by Bradley Parker. Starring Jesse McCartney and Olivia Dudley. A group of friends hire a tour guide to take them through the city of Pripyat, a town that once housed a nuclear reactor plant. The friends find out the town isn't so deserted after all in this horror thriller produced by Oren Peli ('Paranormal Activity').

'Men in Black 3' -- Directed by Barry Sonnenfeld. Starring Will Smith, Josh Brolin, and Tommy Lee Jones. Agents J and K are back in this sequel that has K (Smith) going back in time to rescue a young J, played by Josh Brolin. Director Barry Sonnenfeld returns to deliver big laughs, crazy aliens, and plenty of action.

'Moonrise Kingdom' -- Directed by Wes Anderson. Starring Bill Murray, Frances McDormand, Bruce Willis, Tilda Swinton, Jason Schwartzman, Jared Gilman, and Kara Hayward. In Wes Anderson's latest ensemble piece, two kids fall in love and flee summer camp, sending their parents over the edge on a frenzied search to find the pair. Anderson mainstays Bill Murray and Jason Schwartzman co-star in this lovely comedy co-written by Roman Coppola.
