Based on everything we've seen, and read, about Paul Schrader's trainwreck-in-the-making 'The Canyons,' it's unfortunate that the first clip from the indie is such a bore. Well, until the last 15 seconds or so, but even that is dark/trying to be dark. For the most part, you'll watch as Lindsay Lohan wanders around a house calling her own cell phone while a man ("ex"-porn star James Deen) sleeps in a nearby bed.

Written by Bret Easton Ellis ('American Psycho'), 'The Canyons' is billed as "a contemporary LA noir about the dangers of sexual obsession and ambition, both personally and professionally, among a group of young people in their 20s and how one chance meeting connected to the past unravels all of their lives, resulting in deceit, paranoia, cruel mind games and ultimately violence."

Exciting! However, only the final moments of the clip, which turns dark real quick, hint at the "paranoia" and "mind games," unless not being able to locate your cell phone counts. The actor in the scene is James Deen, and he out-acts poor Linds every step of the way. (Yes, that includes laying there motionless.)

'The Canyons' doesn't have a set release date as of yet, but you can preview Lohan's latest film venture below.
