You know, most TV shows would kill to expand their brand a bit with a video game, terrible as it might be.  It takes a strong TV show to lend itself well to any kind of video game, and certainly a single camera sitcom isn't the easiest transition in principle, but if any show were to succeed, it'd be 'Community.'  How is it that this show still struggles with ratings and show-runners, when fans are actually inspired to design real video games around it?

Taking its cue from the recent 8-bit 'Community' concept episode "Digital Estate Planning," fans of the troubled NBC series have gone the extra mile and made the episodes central video game "Journey to the Center of Hawkthorne" a reality!  Fully functional (and downloadable for free, natch) "Journey to the Center of Hawkthorne" lets you assume control of your favorite 'Community' character, stomp hippies, and play through the very locations seen in the episode.

The game remains unfinished as of yet, but receives regular updates for new playable areas, bugs fixed, and new character sprites.  So let's everyone give a hand to Reddit user "Derferman" for taking the game out of the Dreamatorium and into real life!

You can download the game at the link here, and in the meantime, tell us in the comments what you think and how excited you are for 'Community' to return this fall, Dan Harmon or no!
