NBC’s Kristen Bell-fronted The Good Place is poised to run very differently in Season 2, following that whopper of a twist from the finale. Now that all cards are on the table, our first clip from the September return takes us into Good Place 2.0, along with Ted Danson returning as its beleaguered overseer.

Entertainment Weekly released a first clip from the double-sized September 20 premiere, as – Spoiler Alert – Eleanor (Bell) awakens in the new Good Place with her memory wiped of Season 1’s hellish discovery. That said, Michael (Danson) is still catching hell for his experiment failing the first time around, so might Season 2 end up doing away with “The Good Place” altogether?

In the meantime, here’s a synopsis for the September 20 premiere:

IT’S DEJA VU IN THE GOOD PLACE IN THE SEASON TWO PREMIERE

Having had their memories erased by ambitious master architect Michael (Ted Danson), Eleanor (Kristen Bell), Chidi (William Jackson Harper), Tahani (Jameela Jamil) and Jason (Manny Jacinto) again settle into the Good Place, unaware of what has previously transpired…except that Eleanor discovers the one clue she had left for herself and attempts to piece things together.

The first season is available to binge on Netflix, so stay tuned for more on the Season 2 premiere.
