One of the most anticipated movies this year was supposed to be 'The Great Gatsby,' the F. Scott Fitzgerald novel adapted for the big screen and directed by Baz Lurhmann. That is, until Warner Bros. pulled the film's December release date -- where it was set to go up against 'The Hobbit' and 'Django Unchained' -- even after the studio already teased us with an incredible trailer featuring the glamorous-looking Leonardo DiCaprio all suited up.

We were then left in the dark when it was revealed the movie would be pushed back until next summer with no release date set in stone... until now! So, when will we officially get to see DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and their fellow stars all dolled up for the screen?

The latest rumors coming out of the woodworks suggested that filming was not yet complete on 'The Great Gatsby' and Warner Bros. was not interested in forking over more money for reshoots, after they already paid a total of $124 million. Though, the official statement from the studio was that they wanted to reach a larger audience and felt that a summer release date would be beneficial.

Now, the latest news, revealed today by Warner Bros. (via Deadline), is that the official release date for 'The Great Gatsby' is now May 10, 2013! The film will kick off 2013's summer movie extravaganza, followed shortly by 'The Hangover Part III' on the 24th and 'Man of Steel' on June 14. 'The Great Gatsby' stars DiCaprio, Maguire, Carey Mulligan, Joel Edgerton, Jason Clarke, Isla Fisher and Elizabeth Debicki.

So, what do you think? Does this news of 'Gatsby's' summer release date calm your nerves? 'Cause we have all been a little on edge lately with wondering when this potential Oscar winner will get its screen time. Sound off in the comments!
