This Sunday will see the much-anticipated return of AMC's rain-soaked, murder-mystery drama 'The Killing,' picking up in season 3 with an all-new case that reunites Holder and Linden for a quest to find a long-dormant serial killer. And while the network has released another clip from the June 2 premiere, we've also learned that a 'Firefly' star will appear in the new run of episodes!

Just when we thought we'd uncovered everything there was to know about 'The Killing' season 3 in advance of its two-hour premiere "The Jungle/What You Fear the Most," HitFix has dropped a shiny bit of news on us. Canadian actress and former 'Firefly' fan-favorite Jewel Staite will take a role in the third season as an assistant DA with ties to Holder (Joel Kinnaman). Meanwhile, AMC has released another brief clip from Sunday's premiere, reuniting our protagonists Holder and Linden for the first time since the Rosie Larsen case.

In addition to this latest casting and that of Peter Sarsgaard's death row inmate Ray Seward, ‘The Killing’ season 3 boasts ‘Battlestar Galactica’ vet Aaron Douglas, ‘Flashpoint’s’ Hugh Dillon, Johnny Ray Gill, Amy Semeitz, Max Fowler and Elias Koteas among its cast.
