Fans of AMC's 'The Killing' are still reeling from the recent announcement that the network had decided to resurrect the series for a third season after all, particularly one with a brand-new case that finally moved away from the Rosie Larsen murder. We've heard a bit about the shift in setting for season 3, and the new case going forward, but who might Detective Holder (Joel Kinnaman) find himself partnered with when the series returns this summer? New details from 'The Killing' season 3 inside!

Love or hate the first two seasons of AMC's 'The Killing,' there can be no denying that the unlikely partnership of Holder and Linden (Mireille Enos) made for one of the stronger relationships of the drama. 'The Killing' season 3 will move things forward a year, with Linden having left the force behind until Holder's new case brings her back into the fold, but who will Holder have to work with this time around?

Courtesy of SpoilerTV, we've learned of the show's third season that "Carl Reddick is in his late 40s and is Holder's new partner. He's been a cop for a long time, good at his job, likeable, married, and has an ex-wife he doesn't get along with." No actors have yet been anounced, but the series also recently revealed added actor Elias Koteas as a new series regular, portraying Linden's old partner Ed Skinner, and joining a host of other new characters for the season.

Set to begin shooting on February 25 for a likely summer debut, ‘The Killing’ season 3 understandably won’t involve the Larsen Family, nor will seasons 1 and 2 regular Mayor Darren Richmond (Billy Campbell) appear. Casting descriptions for a number of regular roles already made their way to the internet.

Well, what say you? Does the partner shake-up have you interested in 'The Killing' season 3? Do you think the new characters will improve on the first two seasons?
