Like most, we were surprised to hear that AMC's rain-soaked murder mystery drama 'The Killing' would return for a third season after the network initially passed due to mediocre ratings and waning critical interest. But now that 'The Killing' season 3 has taken on a new case with many more killings, might the AMC drama's third season win us over by the June 2 premiere? Check out the latest trailer to decide for yourself!

'The Killing's third season will prove a source of heated debate among fans and critics alike, moving Detectives Holder and Linden into a new case that dwarfs the Rosie Larsen murder in its sinister scope. The latest trailer for the third year kicks the action up a notch, and adds a much more personal touch to the investigation through Linden's oft-discussed past.

‘The Killing’ season 3 won’t involve the Larsen Family, nor will seasons 1 and 2 regular Mayor Darren Richmond (Billy Campbell) appear. Showrunner Veena Sud told us that the new case drew inspiration from real-life incidents, including photographer Mary Ellen Mark’s work depicting street youths in the 1970s, and the police investigation of Washington serial killer Gary Ridgway, which involved 50 women disappearing over the course of 20 years.

In addition to the casting of  Peter Sarsgaard as death row inmate Ray Seward, ‘The Killing’ season 3 also boasts ‘Battlestar Galactica’ vet Aaron Douglas, ‘Flashpoint’s’ Hugh Dillon, Johnny Ray Gill, Amy Semeitz, Max Fowler and Elias Koteas among its cast.

We've seen 'The Killing' season 3's June 2 premiere and will be on hand for a full review come June 2, but what say you? Is your interest in the AMC drama renewed? Watch the trailer above and tell us what you want to see in the comments!
