The HBO Aaron Sorkin drama 'The Newsroom' will close out its second season this coming Sunday with "Election Night, Part 2," a season that was a bit truncated by costly reshoots. To mark the occasion, we've got two new finale sneak peeks from 'The Newsroom''s newest closer, and an insider update on HBO's season 3 renewal status!

We'd be hard-pressed to imagine 'The Newsroom' without Will McAvoy (Jeff Daniels), Charlie Skinner (Sam Waterston) and MacKenzie McHale (Emily Mortimer) though that's what the first clip from "Election Night, Part 2" certainly steers us toward, as the News Night team resolves to collectively resign in the wake of the Genoa scandal.

Meanwhile in the second sneak peek, Jim (John Gallagher Jr.) finally answers our nagging questions about Maggie (Allison Pill)'s hair, which up to now seemed to have fallen victim to continuity issues of the premiere's reshoots. Hooray for closure, and hair emotions!

Elsewhere, HBO has still yet to issue an official renewal for the Aaron Sorkin drama, despite its earlier optimism and series star Jeff Daniels' somewhat premature tweet announcing the news. The premium cable network continues negotiating a schedule with Aaron Sorkin, though series star Thomas Sadosky (Don) recently told Zap2It "My understanding is that we're doing a third season. That's what I've been told. I don't know what the holdup is on their end [in announcing it], but to every question I've asked of them, they've said, 'Yes.'"

While we wait for official confirmation of 'The Newsroom' season 3, check out the season 2 finale sneak peeks above and below, and give us your predictions for "Election Night, Part 2" in the comments!
