We were admittedly skeptical when A&E announced that it would develop its own version of revered French series 'The Returned,' which itself inspired ABC's own 'Resurrection,' though the cast of A&E's version at least gives us reason to continue. 'Scott Pilgrim' star Mary Elizabeth Winstead has joined the cast, along with Jeremy Sisto, and other such stars from 'Arrow,' 'House of Cards,' 'LOST' and more.

For those unfamiliar with the series (including its original adaptation and premise) A&E's 'The Returned' focuses on a small town that becomes turned upside down when several locals who have been long presumed dead suddenly make a reappearance, bringing about both positive and negative consequences. Carlton Cuse will helm the series, already having a hand in 'Bates Motel,' and FX's 'The Strain.'

Winstead will portray Rowan, a woman who has had a difficult time coping with her musician boyfriend Simon (Mat Vairo)’s death, only to be faced with his return 10 years later. Sisto will play Peter, a psychologist helping the townspeople overcome their grief by creating a support group. Also recently added to the cast includes 'House of Cards' Sandrine Holt, '24''s Agnes Bruckner, 'Arrow''s Kevin Alejandro, 'LOST''s Mark Pellegrino, and 'Once Upon a Time in Wonderland''s Sophie Lowe.

We're keeping an open mind that 'Les Revenants' can chart its own course independent of A&E's 'The Returned,' but what do you think? Does the recognizable cast give you any measure of hope for the latest adaptation?
