‘The Simpsons': Universal Studios Adding Springfield Location and Rides!
Given the popularity of Universal Studios' many film attractions, from the 'Transformers' rides to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, it was only a matter of time before the park corporation dug into a place fans have been longing to go: Springfield! 'The Simpsons' will get its own themed attractions at Universal Studios Florida in the near future, from rides to Duff beer at a real-life Moe's Tavern, so find out when you can visit Springfield IRL inside!
For as much as we loved Universal Studios' most recent 'Simpsons' ride, we've always wanted to be able to "grab a Krusty-certified meat sandwich at Krusty Burger, snatch the catch of the day at the Frying Dutchman, get a slice at Luigi’s Pizza, go nuts for donuts at Lard Lad, enjoy a 'Taco Fresho' with Bumblebee Man and imbibe at Moe’s Tavern.” Thanks to Universal Studios Florida, one day soon we can!
The theme park has officially announced a massive expansion of its 'Simpsons' property, designing a second of the park to bring a number of classic Springfield locales to life, as well as a "Kang & Kodos Twirl n Hurl" ride. And for those of you grown-ups wondering, yes, there will be real Duff beer!
“This new expansion will broaden and deepen the already incredible experience at Universal, by bringing to life the iconic landmarks of Springfield that fans have grown to love,” said Jeffrey Godsick, president of Fox Consumer Products. “Fans will literally be able to live and breathe Springfield as they visit the statue of Jebediah, enjoy a Krusty Burger, and have a seat at Moe’s Tavern, which are just a few of the great experiences awaiting at Universal.”
The 'Simpsons' local at Universal Studios Florida will open at an undetermined date this summer, so check out the proposed artist's rendering below, and hit the comments with your own thoughts!
