Oh, 'The Walking Dead' season 3, you are a devious mistress.  Not only do you enchant us with your every photograph and detail, lure us all the way out to Comic-Con 2012, and drive us wild with your preview weekends, but you make us wait all the way until October for the premiere.  So, what's the latest look at the action this fall for season 3 of 'The Walking Dead?'

We imagine that the season 3 premiere of 'The Walking Dead' is going to be one hell of a zombie-killing mess, based on these photos we keep seeing.  Entertainment Weekly released two photos last week of the coming season, which saw the survivors hacking and slashing their way through the prison walls, clearing out the undead masses of inmates to make the place livable.  Now, we've got an official look at the print magazine's new photo, which continues highlighting the group in their phalanx formation.

What we're not seeing in the latest photograph is are any actual walkers, which one could take to mean that the survivors are successful in their efforts to clear out at least a portion of the prison.  Says 'The Walking Dead' showrunner and executive producer Glen Mazzara of the location:

I’m incredibly proud of the prison. I think our crew has done a great job. It’s a huge sense of scale and magnitude I haven’t seen on any other show as far as construction. What’s important to us is the prison itself is now a character in the show.

It’s a haunted house, it’s scary, it’s frightening, and there are parts of the prison that are always terrifying, that are always inaccessible to our group. It’s not necessarily the blessing that the prison in the comic book turned out to be.
