And lo, ‘The Walking Dead’ has said its goodnights for 2014, midseason finale “Coda” closing out the Grady Memorial Hospital arc with an unexpected (yet somehow predictable) death. It’s a wide-open world for Rick and the other survivors when ‘The Walking Dead’ returns in February 2015, so get a taste of the horrors to come in our first trailer for the back half of season 5!

You’re warned of some minor spoilers for ‘The Walking Dead’ season 5 from here on out (which is more heads-up than the show’s social media accounts gave West Coast viewers), but our first look at the February 2015 return sees Michonne providing the voice of reason, pleading with the group to take up their latest prospect. Fans of the comic might well know know what the sentiment points toward, or what the gates seen in several frames might represent, but time will tell if ‘The Walking Dead’ plans to stop anywhere else long-term.

Elsewhere through the trailer, Maggie looks to be in pretty dire straits by the loss of her sister, while Daryl sulks by his lonesome, and new addition Noah (Tyler James Williams) ingratiates himself to the group. And hey, where’s Morgan in all of this?

Well, what do you think? Did ‘The Walking Dead’'s midseason 5 closer end 2014 with a bang? What do you hope to see from the AMC horror-drama in 2015? Check out the trailer above, and give us your predictions for the back half of ‘The Walking Dead’ season 5 in the comments!
