‘The Walking Dead’ Is Getting its Own Official Blood-Soaked Beer

Were zombies to truly start roaming the streets, we could all probably use a drink. The Walking Dead certainly isn’t ignorant of this fact, occasionally stopping in between walker hack-n’-slash for a pint or two, but at last fans have their own official beer to celebrate Robert Kirkman’s undead franchise, and with a bit of blood to boot.

Where previously the Philadelphia Dock Street Brewing Company created a stout beer with actual smoked goat brains, the Beer Street Journal reports that Terrapin will craft the official tie-in beer for the zombie thriller. It’s bloody ingredients (somewhat) tongue-in-cheek, here’s how the new Walking Dead brew is described:

Terrapin Beer Company and The Walking Dead have teamed up to brew the official beer of the undead. Made with blood orange peel,, and a horrific amount of hops, this bloodthirsty red IPA will have you prepared for the upcoming Zombie Apocalypse.

The Athens, George-based brewing company shares a home state with AMC’s Walking Dead, even as the action of the series itself has relocated outside Washington, D.C. Terrapin has yet to set an official release date for its undead refreshment, but the 6.7% ABV per 22-ounce bottle should hit stores before long. Anybody hungry for human flesh thirsty?
