If you've been following news of AMC's 'The Walking Dead' from the very beginning, you may have heard some of the more out-there casting rumors, such as giving Charlie Sheen or Marvel legend Stan Lee cameos in the series.  None of them panned out of course, but a fan-petition for the latest will certainly get your undead blood pumping...

According to SFGate, fans of actor D.C. Douglas have started an internet petition to land the star a cameo role in 'The Walking Dead,' though as a zombie or a fellow survivor is anyone's guess.  The kicker?  Douglas is himself best known for a lead role in another zombie franchise, that of voicing the villainous Albert Wesker in the 'Resident Evil' video game series!

The idea first began in response to a fan Twitter question, explained Douglas, who as also voiced the character Legion in 'Mass Effect 2' and 'Mass Effect 3,' and has recently made TV appearances in ABC's 'Castle' and CBS's '2 Broke Girls.'  Says Douglas:

"[A fan] Nathan asked if I had ever been on 'The Walking Dead' and I told him I haven't. When he enthusiastically said I should be on the show, I joked back that I'd sign a petition like that. Next thing I knew, there was an actual petition!

I have no idea if it will work, but I'm tickled some of my Twitter fans are augmenting my agent's job! They have a special place in my cold, black heart.  Zombie fans unite!"

'The Walking Dead' season 3 has already begun production in Atlanta, but with a full 16-episode order shooting is expected to continue well into the year in anticipation of an October premiere date.  And even with all the exciting new characters afoot, who's to say a little bit of 'Resident Evil' might not lurk its way onto the show?

If you'd like to see Douglas succeed where Stan Lee and Charlie Sheen failed, sign the fan petition here, and tell us what you want to see from 'The Walking Dead' season 3 in the comments!
