We're still a few months out from 'The Walking Dead' season 4, patiently breaking down every trailer and photo to come our way, but we'll have plenty more to enjoy when the season 3 Blu-ray and DVD collections hit shelves come August 27. In the meantime, why not check out a deleted scene from the AMC horror thriller's third season, which might offer up a clue into an exciting season 4 development?

We'll certainly miss Merle (Michael Rooker) come season 4, but it seems we might have had even less time with the acerbic redneck if Carol (Melissa McBride) had her way. TVLine's deleted scene from 'The Walking Dead' season 3 highlights a tense exchange between Merle and Carol, the latter of who blithely threatening to slit the former's throat should he mess with his brother Daryl (Norman Reedus). We've certainly seen Carol and Daryl get close in the new season 4 trailer, but is this our first taste of a shippers' delight to come?

While we await the latest details from the fall premiere, the next run of ‘The Walking Dead’ will introduce ‘The Wire’ star Lawrence Gilliard, Jr. as comic character Bob Stookey, and upgrade actors Chad Coleman, Sonequa Martin-Green and Emily Kinney to series regulars. AMC earlier confirmed that David Morrissey’s villainous Governor would also return in season 4 as a series regular, while the drama is confirmed to have begun casting three new roles exceptionally familiar to comic fans.

In the meantime, check out 'The Walking Dead' season 3 deleted scene above, pick up the home release on August 27, and tell us what you want to see from season 4 in the comments!
