'The Walking Dead' Season 3: Check out EW's New Covers!

October 14 seems like a lifetime away as we anxiously await the latest news and footage of 'The Walking Dead' season 3.  Yesterday we learned about an unexpected development in the form of a new original character to be played by 'The Good Wife' star Dallas Roberts, but what of the familiar faces?  Where are fresh looks at Michonne and The Governor?  Thankfully, it's EW to the rescue again with these brand new magazine covers!

Thankfully for us, we don't live in a world where zombies have overrun the printing presses, and therefore EW can provide new and exclusive content for 'The Walking Dead' season 3.  This Friday's issue will go in depth on the third year of the hit AMC zombie drama, and in advance the company has released its four variant covers to get people primed for the new season.

The first cover naturally features an increasingly grizzled Rick Grimes (seriously, check the early episodes to see how haggard he's become), while the next two focus on our new characters Michonne (Danai Gurira) and The Governor (David Morrissey).  Michonne has her previously seen pets in tow, but my, what a big knife The Governor has!

Finally, the last cover variant features everybody's favorite Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus), as well as his returning brother Merle (Michael Rooker), giving a closer look at that crazy contraption constructed to replace the hand he severed on that Atlanta rooftop.  Something tells us it isn't really Daryl whom Merle will wish a hand for a hand.

Check out the covers below, pick up the issue on Friday, and tell us what you're most excited about for 'The Walking Dead' season 3 in the comments!
