In Hollywood there is a disease that's infected many people in the industry. And that disease is called "Scheduling Conflict." In some cases it's real, in others it's a cover story for that person not working out as hoped. Alas, Mads Mikkelsen contracted "Scheduling Conflict" and will not be in 'Thor 2.'

We found this out from The Playlist, and it appears that Mikkelsen will be too busy with 'Hannibal' to do the movie. Mikklesen was rumored to play the bad guy in the film, though that was never confirmed, and though that part might be juicy, in 'Hannibal,' not only would he be playing the main character, he'd be stepping into the shoes of Anthony Hopkins as Dr. Hannibal Lecter. And though it might be cool to see yourself as an action figure, a TV show that runs until it gets a syndication deal means you never have to work again if you don't want to.

"Scheduling Conflict" also claimed David Slade yesterday, as he is working on 'Hannibal' as well, and won't have time for the 'Daredevil' reboot. There was a time when actors and directors would abandon a television show to jump a the chance to work in a movie. That time is over.
