The Michael Bay-produced 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' reboot has already begun filming in NYC. We've already seen photos of Megan Fox's April O'Neil, Will Arnett, a few henchmen and the first pics of the pre-CGI turtles themselves. Though, there's still at least one more role to fill and that's for new addition William Fichtner.

Deadline announced that 'The Lone Ranger' star has just been added to the roster in a mysterious lead role described as having "iconic stature in the 'Turtles'' mythology." Naturally, the latest speculation roaming the webosphere is that he'll be playing none other than the Turtle's famous villain Shredder, who's appeared in some form or another in just about every incarnation of 'TMNT.'

Though, again, it is unconfirmed at this time, and although Fichtner has those classic villain facial features, we're not convinced he's good for Shredder, considering the character's a master at ninjutsu and is in peak physical condition. But, hey, that's our speculation.

'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' features, aside from the previously mentioned Fox and Arnett, Danny Woodburn as Splinter, Alan Ritchson ('Smallville,' 'Catching Fire') as Raphael, Pete PLoszek as Leonardo, Jeremy Howard as Donatello and Noel Fisher as Michelangelo. Though plot details are still scarce, Bay stated that, despite the alien origin rumor going around, the film will re-imagine the classic beginnings of the Turtles, who were mutated after contact with ooze.

Directed by Jonathan Liebesman ('Wrath of the Titans,' 'Battle Los Angeles'), 'TMNT' is currently set for a June 6, 2014 release. Stay tuned for confirmation on Fichtner's character, but in the meantime, do you think he'd be a good Shredder?
