RIP Tony Scott: Actors and Directors Remember the Legendary Director

Kevin Winter, Getty Images
Director Tony Scott touched many lives throughout his lifetime — actors that worked with him, filmmakers that looked up to him and moviegoers that made personal connections to the characters in his films. So when news hit that Scott seemingly took his own life, the world had a difficult time comprehending the fact that the man who brought us such classic films as 'Top Gun,' 'True Romance' and 'Man on Fire' was no longer with us.

The most recent reports are saying that Scott reportedly claimed his own life after doctors diagnosed him with inoperable brain cancer. Soon afterwards it seemed that everyone from his fellow directors Ron Howard and Edgar Wright to famed actors Rosario Dawson and Samuel L. Jackson took to Twitter to express their condolences to Scott's family and friends.

Here are some highlights from the flood of reactions being sent out over Twitter.
