‘Total Recall’ Images: Guns, Babes and a Beat-Up Colin Farrell

A slew of oddly-cropped ‘Total Recall’ images were added to Sony Pictures’ official site for Len Wiseman’s reboot of the classic sci-fi thriller, showing us pretty much what we’ve come to expect from the upcoming summer blockbuster: guns, babes, and a frazzled Colin Farrell trying to decipher reality from deadly fiction.

The ladies in question are Jessica Biel and Kate Beckinsale (or Mrs. Wiseman), who are either helping or hunting Farrell’s blue-collar character, Douglas Quaid, as he scurries around a dystopian, futuristic setting. Based on Philip K. Dick’s ‘We Can Remember It For You Wholesale,’ Wiseman’s thrill-ride claims to differentiate itself from Arnold Schwarzenegger’s classic ‘Recall,’ though it’s still a little hard to tell what ride we’re on from these images.

Farrell looks like he’s being put through a grinder, but we're waiting to see a few shots (or trailer clips) that pull back and show us the futuristic world Wiseman has constructed with his imaginative team. ‘Recall’ is a man-on-the-run story, but we want to see where he’s running through, because with Dick’s imaginative tale, that’s part of the fun.

Wiseman’s ‘Total Recall’ opens everywhere on Aug. 3.
