Nary a day seems to pass without Netflix’s comedy vacuum sucking up the next A-list special, though why complain? Adored icon and survivor Tracy Morgan now joins Louis C.K., Sarah Silverman, Dave Chappelle and more with a new standup comedy special, set to debut in May.

Per Netflix, SNL and 30 Rock star Tracy Morgan will return to stand-up with May 16 special Staying Alive, shot before a packed house at New Jersey’s Count Basie Theatre. Morgan last year headlined a Picking Up the Pieces comedy tour, while the synopsis for Staying Alive reads:

Tracy Morgan’s “Staying Alive” finds the comedy icon exploring his fresh take on life, career and mortality in the wake of surviving a devastating near-fatal traffic collision in 2014. From coping with a traumatic brain injury and learning to walk again to “falling for” his physical therapist and deciding that maybe getting older isn’t such a bad thing, Morgan is back in true form and tackles the most trying time of his life with grace, strength and the jaw-droppingly hilarious point of view fans have grown to love.

Netflix has made a tremendous push into comedy specials in recent months, between a three-part showcase with Dave Chappelle, and similar high-profile comedy deals for Chris Rock, Louis C.K., Amy Schumer, Jerry Seinfeld (including Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee), Joe Rogan, Dana Carvey, Michael Che, Gabriel Iglesias, Reggie Watts and Colin Quinn.

For his part, Morgan was last seen returning to SNL alongside his 30 Rock co-star Alec Baldwin, having previously hosted in 2015. Stay tuned for news of his upcoming special while we wait.
