The synopsis for 'This Must Be the Place' promises a disaster. The recently released trailer promises a disaster of epic proportions. So, naturally, it looks like an absolute must-watch.

Here's the basic premise of the movie: Sean Penn stars as an aging goth rocker who emerges from his self-imposed European exile to track down the Nazi soldier who tormented his dying Holocaust survivor father and is hiding somewhere in the American southwest. Along the way, he interacts with all kinds of colorful characters, with his misadventures set to the music of the Talking Heads' David Byrne. Yes, this is a real movie. You can watch the trailer over at Apple to prove it to yourself in HD or you can watch the embed below.

Although it hasn't had its domestic release yet, 'This Must Be the Place' has played its fair share of film festivals (including Cannes and Sundance), so we put out the question on Twitter: is this movie a special kind of disaster? Answers from the informed few included:

"It is. Whoooo." -@jamesrocchi

"One of the oddest failures I've had the pleasure of seeing. Glad I did because it was just so spectacularly off the mark." -@dordotson

"It is a *very* special kind of disaster." -@EricDSnider

"Almost unwatchable." -@EriktheMovieman

And of course, there was one "I f***ing loved it" (courtesy of @sam_strange).

We don't know about you, but this sounds like our kind of terrible. What do you think? Does this look like it's worth your time, even if it's just for a laugh and the chance to say you've seen it?
